Our church, opened in 1954, is situated at the top of Foster Avenue next to the Town Hall, opposite the Broxtowe Borough Council Offices and the Library, and within easy reach of the University of Nottingham. It boasts a modern community hall which is available for hire. There is some parking at the church, with more parking available at the pay-and-display municipal car park on Foster Avenue, or at the multi-storey car park nearby.

Our Changing Liturgy
A new translation of the Mass has been prepared for the English-speaking world. The current translation was prepared in the late 1960s after the Second Vatican Council. This means that many of the texts said and sung by the people at every Mass will be different. One example would be the Gloria which by following the Latin text more closely is expanded. The texts of the priest, such as the Collects and the Eucharistic Prayers, have also been re-translated.

Thanks to a lot of hard work from Deacon Anthony and contributions from several parishioners, we have our first edition of a new parish magazine. Joyful Hope is a seasonal magazine for parishioners of the Assumption and St Thomas More in Wollaton.

The Angelus Project
As part of our Diocesan follow-up to the Papal Visit and to celebrate the Year of Catholic Education, The Angelus Project has been launched. All schools and parish communities are invited to join in saying the Angelus prayer each day at noon, beginning during Advent 2010 and on into the year of Catholic Education.
